The Sri Lankan IT Professionals Association in UAE held their 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Annual Get-together on 27th May 2023 at Fortune Plaza hotel in Dubai. More than 50 members and their family participated to the event. The main objective of this AGM is to elect a new Executive Committee to drive the SLITPA for the period of 2 years as the current executive committee term of two years got over according to the constitution.
Dimple De Silva, Assistant Secretary was the master of the ceremony (MC) and the current president Chamil Mendis presented the Annual Report while Treasurer Bhavanathan Pathmanathan presented the Annual Financial Report. Thereafter, Dimple De Silva thank the outgoing Executive committee and announce the received nominations to fill all the 16 vacant positions of the Executive Committee.

- 6 Physical Events were Conducted
- 16 Virtual Events were Conducted
- 14 Successful Business Meetings with Sri Lankan IT Companies were held
- 15 New Members got opportunities to find new jobs
- 8 Successful business initiatives with Sri Lankan IT Companies
- 3 MSc Programs launched for Members
After the new committee appointed, Dimple invited newly appointed President Kuminda Liyanage to address the gathering. Thereafter members had an opportunity to listen to 2 presentations from our Sponsors. These presentations were done by Mr. Tuan Mubarak, Manager Admissions from Next Education Group and Mr. Sanjaya Padmaperuma – Group CEO of SAT Global Technologies. The formal event was concluded by newly appointed Secretary Anjula Malshan with a thanking note by thanking all the participants and sponsors.
It was a well-organized fun filled night with delicious dinner with DJ music while members also got great networking opportunity to meet new IT Professionals.
Sri Lankan IT Professionals Association in the United Arab Emirates (SLITPA-UAE) is a non-profit association of Sri Lankan IT Professionals working and living in the United Arab Emirates with an objective of helping and improving the presence of Sri Lankan IT professional’s footprint in the UAE market. SLITPA UAE is one of the umbrella association registered with the Sri Lankan Professionals Association in UAE.
