UAE BUSINESS COMMUNITY INVITED TO SRI LANKA EXPO 2027
Dubai, UAE – The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, led by Hon. Alexi Gunasekera, Consulate General of Sri Lanka in UAE, has invited professional associations, business organisations and industry representatives to join efforts to mobilize a strong UAE business delegation for Sri Lanka EXPO 2027, scheduled for 14–17 January 2027 at BMICH, Colombo, Sri Lanka. During a meeting convened by the Consulate General, UAE Sri Lankan professional associations, Sri Lions, SriLankan Airlines and the Business Council representatives discussed strategies to encourage greater participation from the UAE business community. Hon. Alexi Gunasekera called on the participating organisations to mobilise major investors, exhibitors, buyers and business leaders from the UAE, with the collective target of bringing a contingent of at least 200 participants to Sri Lanka EXPO 2027. Representing the Sri Lanka IT Professionals Association – UAE (SLITPA UAE), President Mr. Thishan Gunasekara proposed the development of two dedicated participation packages-one for investors and another for exhibitors. The proposed packages would cover return air tickets, transportation, hotel accommodation and EXPO event tickets, subject to final arrangements with the relevant stakeholders and service providers. The initiative aims to make participation more accessible for UAE companies seeking to explore investment opportunities, showcase products and services, establish partnerships and connect with potential buyers in Sri Lanka. UAE-based companies interested in participating are invited to contact SLITPA UAE at secretary@slitpauae.org. The association welcomes expressions of interest from all industries, including technology and AI, machinery and industrial solutions, food and agriculture, investment, manufacturing, trading and other commercial sectors.
